Accrue Treasury

Embedded Financial Infrastructure. One API.

What It Is

Accrue Treasury is a full-stack financial backend for platforms that need to hold funds, split payments, disburse to multiple parties, and stay compliant — without building any of it themselves.

FDIC-insured wallets. Double-entry ledger. Multi-party disbursements. Configurable fee collection. KYC and fraud prevention. Automated ACH settlement. All managed by Accrue, all accessible through a single API.

You bring the platform. We bring the banking infrastructure, the compliance layer, the ledger, and the settlement engine. You collect fees on every transaction. We make sure the money lands where it's supposed to — on time, auditable, and to the penny.

Merchant

A user funds their wallet through your app. When they make a payment, Accrue splits the funds — the payee gets their share, your platform collects its fee, and rewards flow back to the user. Settlement runs automatically. The ledger balances to the penny.

What You Get

Wallets

FDIC-insured stored-value wallets, one per end user, white-labeled to your brand. Users fund via ACH or card. Balances are real money held in regulated accounts — not IOUs, not points, not promises.

Multi-Party Fund Splitting

Every dollar that enters the system can be split at the point of deposit or at the point of payment:

  • Deposit disbursements — User deposits $110 → $100 lands with the payee, $10 routes to your platform fee account. Configured per counterparty.
  • Payment disbursements — User pays $50 from their wallet → $45 goes to the merchant, $5 goes to you. Splits are defined at capture time.

No manual reconciliation. No nightly batch jobs you have to build. The ledger handles it.

Counterparties

Any entity that receives money — a merchant, a school, a landlord, a service provider — is a counterparty. Each one gets:

  • Bank account credentials (routing + account number)
  • Dedicated clearing and outflow ledger accounts
  • Configurable fee rates (fixed, percentage, or both)
  • Independent settlement schedule

Register one counterparty or ten thousand. The system scales the same way.

Compliance

KYC, identity verification, and document collection — managed entirely by Accrue. Progressive verification means zero friction at signup: users create wallets instantly and only verify identity when money moves. Thresholds are configurable per use case.

You never touch PII. You never file a SAR. You never think about money transmitter licensing.

Settlement & Ledger

Double-entry ledger tracks every dollar from source to destination. Settlement batches all payments and refunds per counterparty into a single daily ACH transfer. Full reports via API and CSV.

Every transaction has a paper trail. Every balance reconciles. Every disbursement is auditable.

Incentive Engine

Configurable rewards on deposits, purchases, and referrals — delivered directly into user wallets. Drives adoption and retention without you building a loyalty system from scratch. Reward rules, tiers, and campaigns are managed through the Accrue platform.

Reporting & Reconciliation

Full visibility into every dollar — where it came from, where it went, and what fees were collected along the way.

  • Transaction-level reporting — Every deposit, payment, refund, disbursement, and fee is individually queryable via API. Filter by counterparty, date range, status, or transaction type.
  • Settlement reports — Each settlement batch includes a full breakdown: gross amount, fees deducted, net payout, and the individual transactions that make up each batch. Available via API and CSV export.
  • Balance reconciliation — Real-time balance queries across user wallets, counterparty accounts, and fee accounts. The double-entry ledger guarantees that every balance reconciles — inflows always equal outflows plus held balances.
  • Counterparty statements — Per-counterparty reporting showing all incoming payments, fees collected, disbursements sent, and outstanding balances. Give your payees a clear view of what they're owed and what they've received.
  • Discrepancy alerting — Configure automated reconciliation checks that flag discrepancies above a threshold you define. Catch issues before they compound.
  • Webhook events — Subscribe to settlement and disbursement events to trigger your own downstream reporting, accounting system updates, or partner notifications in real time.

For detailed settlement configuration (scheduled, on-demand, and threshold-based triggers), see our Settlements Guide.

Webhooks & Events

Real-time notifications for every state change: wallet funded, payment captured, KYC approved, settlement completed, disbursement sent. Build your product logic on top of a reliable event stream.

Use Cases

Marketplace & Multi-Vendor Commerce

Buyers fund wallets to purchase from multiple sellers. Each seller is a counterparty. The platform takes a cut on every transaction via payment disbursements. Sellers receive net settlement. Buyers earn rewards that keep them on-platform. The wallet becomes the default payment method — not because you force it, but because it's better.

Subscription & Prepaid Services

Users pre-fund wallets for recurring services — memberships, meal plans, transit, healthcare. Auto-reload ensures balances stay funded. Failed payment rates drop to near zero because the money is already there. Pre-funded balances are working capital your platform can count on.

Bill Pay & Collections

Users fund wallets and schedule recurring payments to payees — landlords, utilities, service providers, institutions. The platform collects fees on each transaction. Payees receive batched ACH disbursements on a configurable schedule. One integration replaces a patchwork of payment processors, ACH originators, and reconciliation scripts.

How You Integrate

Accrue Treasury handles the financial complexity. You call the API.

  • User onboarding — Wallet creation is instant. No verification at signup. KYC is triggered progressively when money moves — Accrue manages the entire flow.
  • Payment methods — Users link bank accounts or cards through Accrue's embeddable widgets or your own UI hitting our API.
  • Counterparty onboarding — Register any payee with their bank account details. Dedicated ledger accounts are provisioned automatically.
  • Fee configuration — Set your take rate per counterparty. Fixed, percentage, or both. Fees are collected automatically on every transaction.
  • Fund movement — Deposits, payments, splits, and disbursements — all orchestrated through a single API surface. Accrue moves the money end to end.
  • Settlement — Daily batched ACH. Full reporting. No manual reconciliation. See the Settlements Guide for configuration options.

Why This Matters

Most embedded payment products give you a pipe. Money goes in one end, comes out the other. You still need to build the wallets, the ledger, the compliance layer, the disbursement logic, the settlement engine, and the incentive system yourself.

Accrue Treasury is the whole stack:

  • Wallets with real money — not tokenized card credentials, not points. FDIC-insured balances that users fund, spend, and earn into.
  • Built-in incentives — rewards on every deposit and purchase, configurable by you, delivered automatically. Adoption and retention out of the box.
  • Progressive compliance — zero-friction onboarding with verification that scales to the transaction. You never touch the regulatory surface.
  • Omnichannel — the same wallet works in your web app, your mobile app, and at a physical point of sale.

Your users don't just pay through your platform. They save, earn, and build a financial relationship with it. That's the difference between a transaction and a customer.

Accrue Treasury is embedded financial infrastructure for platforms that need more than a payment gateway. Wallets, fund splitting, compliance, disbursements, incentives, and settlement — one API, fully managed.
